Theatre Marina”s Play Kurinchi starts with a recent history of Chennai. Members in two families for some reason wish to see Kurinchi, docked at Chennai Port. One is a mentally disturbed young man in his 30s and the other 70-year-old policeman retired from the Imperial Police prior to Indian independence. There is a wisecrack in that location Gatekeeper Dharman, peanut hawker Kannamma, Khader, Kabali, the Tea vendor who engage with the above visitors and the conversation escalates. A few characters from the sparsely told pages of Chennai”s history entangled in a web of intriguing events form the climax proving “வாழ்க்கை அபத்தங்கள் நிறைந்தது.”

Written by Jayaraman Raghunathan, Music score and Direction by R Giridharan, produced by Keerthi Mariappan, Kurinchi is a prestigious production from Theatre Marina.
