Thiruarangan

In the winter of January 2018, Ram arrives in the Indian embassy, Moscow as the deputy to the Ambassador. Ram defies the directions of his boss, the Ambassador and goes about helping the Politburo in Crimea matters while the whole Western world is critical of the Russian Premier’s stance. The Russian Premier is obviously delighted.
About 248 years back in time, St. Petersburg is the place of action where Catherine the Great admonishes her lover Count Grigory Grigorievich Orlov for his wavering ways and demands a fitting birthday present.
Back in our own Sri Rangam a few years further back in 1750, where a poor Kothandam defies the dangers of the French soldiers loitering around as the fall out of the Carnatic War, to eke out a meagre living to support his pregnant wife and senile father.
What connects all these events cris-crossing in time and history!
Watch Thiruarangan - not just a historical fiction but an Indian aspiration from Theatre Marina, written by Jayaraman Raghunathan, Directed by R Girithran and produced by Keerthi Mariappan.
